A BLAST FROM THE PAST
We Started Small & Worked Our Way Up!!
Back in the 1990’s long time Venice residents, Ross and Susan Walkup, owned a very unique vehicle. It was a 1950’s Mack Bus that was originally used as a fire engine and had been converted to an open-air sightseeing bus in the 1970’s. They decided this was a great way to showcase our amazing area. Ross started offering narrated tours of our beautiful and historic City of Venice.
The tours were an instant hit and it didn’t take long for groups to start asking about taking the trolley to further destinations such as theatres and events. Well the 1950’s Mack Bus wasn’t really designed for that. In 1997 they purchased their first charter bus and All Around Charters was born. We are very proud of the fact that Venice High School was our very first charter customer.
KEEPING IT ALL IN THE FAMILY
From Father To Son The Tradition Continues!
Today All Around Charters & Tours is owned by Ross and Susan’s son and daughter in law, Adam and Jamie Walkup. Adam has been part of the business since its inception, while he was still at Venice High School and driving the buses before he graduated from college.
Over the years we have grown into Southwest Florida’s largest fleet of Luxury Motorcoaches. We differ from our competitors in how we view our industry. Many bus companies will tell you they are in the transportation industry and they are exactly right, but with that mindset you are missing so much of what we do. We are in the people business! Our deep local roots and strong ties to our community have certainly contributed to our success in this dynamic industry.
