The Sanibel Shell Festival is a beloved island tradition celebrating the world-renowned seashells found on Sanibel Island's beaches.
Marvel at the competitive artistic and scientific shell exhibits, a master class in natural beauty and human creativity. Visit the numerous vendor booths and live mollusk tanks.
While the beach provides the raw materials, the artists at this show turn them into literal masterpieces.
The event features a judged shell competition where over150 collectors and artists from across the globe (including places like Japan and the Virgin Islands) showcase their work. Highlights include scientifically classified displays and intricate "Sailor's Valentines" (symmetrical shell mosaics housed in wooden boxes.
Because of Sanibel's position as the "shelling capital of the world," this event is a fantastic way to see how raw beach treasures are turned into master-class art.
The Sanibel Shell Show & Festival is more than just an event; it’s a celebration of the slice of paradise that is Sanibel Island. Whether you’re there for the rigorous scientific data or the breathtaking art, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the treasures hidden in the sand.
There will be food trucks at the festival along with several highly rated restaurants and cafes a very short, pleasant walk away, mostly located in the surrounding plazas.

On the day of your trip we have several Pick-Up Locations throughout Manatee, Sarasota & Charlotte Counties for you to drive to and park your car. We will pick you up at one of these locations and drop you back off there when your tour has ended. You can pick the location that is most convenient for you.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off times Vary based on your destination and we will give you those times when you call to book your fun All Around tour!
